Witcher 3 modding tool Wolvenkit to support Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 will not support PC mods at launch in a game set in the future, in which body modification is the norm. This did not prevent the creators of an open-source modding project Witcher 3 from getting ready to support the new open-world RPG of CD Project Red.

Posting on the CD Projekt Red forums, modder Traderain announced that work has begun to upgrade modding project Wolvenkit to support for Cyberpunk 2077.

"Now that we are so close to release cp77, we are prepared to upgrade the Witcher 3 – WolvenKit – community modding tools to also support cyberpunk," writes Traderain. "WolvenKit is an open-source community project which allows TW3 to be modded almost completely and to exceed the official modding tools of the game."

It is not clear when the modding tools for the PC version are available. But they added, "We plan to support cyberpunk community modding and would like to have information from community and the CDPR staff," while also having a link to their Discord server.

Cyberpunk 2077 is built with the proprietary Red Engine of the Red Project CD. It's the same engine as the Witcher 3, so perhaps it's not surprising that the same modding tools can be adapted to support the Scientific Fiber RPG. Who knows, that's the best way to put Geralt of Rivia in Night City or other bizarre elements. Certainly, however, some will take the obsession with dildos to top the game.

On December 10th, Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to launch. Sci-fi reviews for the RPG are already ongoing, with critics generally giving the title a warm welcome. The 5/5 review from VG247 called it "familiarer than many have predicted, with lots of elements that are not perfect, but with details and delicate stories."
